Royal Enfield recently recalled 26,300 units of the new generations¬†2021 classic 350. Due to excessive pressure on the rear brake pedal, it might wear out the reaction bracket on the swingarm and affect the vehicle’s braking performance and produce a lot of noise.

As per protocol enlisted by the authorities, the company informed the industry body SIAM and the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways on Monday morning.

Some problems occurred with the Classic 350s between September and December this year. Other Royal Enfield motorcycle models were not included in the most recent recall since they don’t have this issue. Only Classic 350 motorcycles with affected rear drum brakes and ABS were recalled.

Royal Enfield service teams and dealerships will contact affected customers to arrange a free part replacement. Additionally, customers can contact the company’s helpline or visit an authorized repair center to cross-reference the motorcycle’s VIN numbers to see if they are part of the affected batch.

Royal Enfield’s most popular model is the Classic 350. A 349cc single-cylinder DOHC engine with a 5-speed transmission produces 20.2 bhp and 27 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm.

Royal Enfield earlier recalled 2.36 lakh Meteor 350, Bullet 350, and Classic 350 bikes in May due to faulty ignition coils.

“High braking stress on the rear brake pedal may produce reaction bracket damage, resulting in an unusual braking noise and possible degradation of braking performance in extreme conditions.” Affected Classic 350 bikes built between September 1 to December 5, 2021.
